The Sandglass (the hourglass) is a picture of two young men who are best friends and grow during one of Korea's politically tumultuous periods, the 1970s until the 1980s. Tae Soo (Choi Min Soo), hard and faithfully, grows up to become a gangster, and Woo Suk (Park Sang Won), intelligent, with strong moral values, grows up to become a prosecutor. Hye Rin (Ko Hyun Jung), a beautiful and energetic daughter of a wealthy casino owner, was a classmate of Woo Suk at the university.
